Say What?! Saturday is here and I have some super cool facts just for you!

Today we are talking about the Eucalyptus Globulus tree, also known as the blue gum.🌲

The iconic Eucalyptus species are native to Australia, but now also grow in many different parts of the world. The blue gum being the most frequently planted. 

92 million hectares of this tree species grows in Australia and it forms 3/4 of the total native forest area. There are over 700 species and sub species of this shrub/tree, but the favorite meal of the Koalas is…You guessed it! 🐨👉 Eucalyptus Globulus!🌿

The word “koala” originates from one of the Australian Aboriginal languages which roughly translates to “no drink” or “no water”. A possible explanation as to why they would choose this name is because koalas rarely drink water. The majority of their water intake comes from eating the…🐨👉 eucalyptus leaves!😲
